Having a Marriage on Purpose

It's February and we all know what that means, LOVE is in the air! It's time for romance, fine dining, red roses and lots of chocolates, or is it? Maybe you just want some peace and to be able to like your spouse again. No matter where you are in your marriage we hope to be able to shed some light on some common struggles and share some encouragement for those that are sold out in love, or just need a little more spark or those that feel completely alone and ready to call it quits. We don't claim to have all the answers but one thing we do know for sure is that marriage happens on purpose! So please join us this Valentines month as we focus on doing just that, having a Marriage on Purpose!

About Us

Jamie and I have had a heart for marriages and helping people not only protect this wonderful covenant, but to enrich it and experience your marriage for the source of strength and joy that it was meant to be.

We are both believers and followers of Jesus Christ and although we have our flaws and make mistakes (some days more than others), we are both trying to be intentional about our relationship with God and growing to be more like Jesus.  The road is difficult and there are many set backs.  In no means do we ever consider ourselves nor desire to set ourselves up as perfect or in any way better than anyone else.  We have decided that we wanted to share what we have learned through our own struggles and studies with anyone who may be able to benefit.  Even if it is only in bringing a smile to someone's face for a brief moment.

Both Jamie and I have been in school for counseling in addition to our own personal work and study in marriage and family.  I (Chris) am getting close to completing my masters in counseling this year from Liberty University.  Our approach is from a Christian and Biblical foundation and we also subscribe to cognitive and behavioral theories.  Many times, how we perceive a problem or situation can have more of an impact that the situation itself.  God doesn't want us to live lives that are shaped and limited by this world and the influences of this world.  God wants to transform us to be more like Him and He wants to do it by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).  We are both leaders in different ministries within our church in Fort Mill and hope to help people discover the promises of God in their own lives, most importantly starting with a relationship with Christ Jesus.
